Good evening, coming to you from Lusaka, Zambia. Today we had a great day. Our day started out with a quick breakfast and a short commute to the school. The children were excited to see us coming, the ones on recess were running towards us when they saw the bus coming. After all the hellos, which can take awhile, we got to teaching and praising the Lord with all the students. Rachel, Cindy and Rhiannon were working with the 3rd graders, they were teaching them some hymns in english and in turn the children were teaching us some songs in their language. They also were able to make tissue paper flowers. Christina and Kyndall were with the 1st graders teaching them the alphabet and some games. Just having a grand old time, lots laughs and lot of clapping going on. Meanwhilie, Ben was in charge of about 30 or so 2nd graders, boy that was a load for him, but he did a wonderful job playing and shouting with them, getting chased around the field was fun to watch. Charlene and Hannah, along with Richard were with the 7th grade girls, knitting , I believe they were making knitted caps. After a rough start, the girls got to it like pros. I was hanging out with the 5th and 7th grade boys. I spoke to them about David and Goliath and how to be obedient to the Lord. I really felt that the boys really enjoy our time together, it was a blessing for me as well. Jordan was playing soccer with all the boys that came out for recess, he is working on a good tan, but first he has to worry about the sun burn on his neck and arms. Chris and Tara went out to a village with Pastor Mumba to attend a conference.
The morning went really fast, "time flies when you are having fun". We came and ate lunch at the learning center and then we went shopping for school supplies. We have 4 teachers in our group, so going out to buy books and supplies was a priority. We got back to the school and got to paint the chalk board black, change light bulbs and clean around the school. There is alot of work to be done and we know that we will not finish, but we serve a great God and He will finish what He has started here in Lusaka. To be here, playing and working with the children has been a blessing for all the team members, we really enjoy the time spent at the school. We have paint and brushes ready for Thursday, it should really be fun painting the classrooms. Have a good night and may God bless all.
